Does the IRS accept digital receipts?

 

The IRS has been accepting digital receipts since at least 1997 under certain conditions, all of which are met by the Shoeboxed organizational system. In order to be usable for your taxes, your receipts must be legible, must link back to other purchasing references, like credit card spending, and they must be submitted to the IRS within the accepted time frame typical for all receipts.
